Powermesh Bed

Powermesh Trampoline BedPowermesh beds are made from thin strands of white rubber which is then spray painted with a top coat colour.  The most common colour in the UK is blue as seen in the photo on the right, but they are also seen in white, red and yellow

Powermesh beds are often advertised as suitable for ‘Bounce Therapy’ or ‘Special Needs’ use.  They give a similar performance to that of the 13mm nylon webbed bed on a 77a school model trampoline, so if you are only using the trampoline for SEN uses a 25mm or 45mm nylon webbed bed would be a smarter purchase as the life span of the bed will be much longer than that of a powermesh bed.  The only bonus to the powermesh bed is that it is easily cleaned or  washed.

When the Powermesh bed begins to show signs of wear and tear the top coat colour starts to wear off and you can see the white underneath.  The ‘white’ then becomes thinner and thinner until it starts to break like an elastic band being overstretched.  Unfortunately you cannot repair the Polymesh bed unless you have more Powermesh stitched over the affected area which would then lSpecial Needs Trampoline with Powermesh Bedeave the bed uneven and unsightly.

TC have experienced the use of powermesh beds personally and to give you an indication of their life span, we used three beds for 5-6 hours per week with mainstream pupils performing skills from complete beginner through to front/back somersaults and had to replace all three  beds after 6 months as the wear around the cross area had become a concern.  We upgraded to 13mm nylon webbed beds as they can be repaired if a nylon strip is damaged or the stitching breaks.  You will certainly get more use for your money with a much longer life span if cared for properly.

The most useful feature of  Powermesh bed is that they can easily be washed or wiped down while still attached to the trampoline frame to keep it clean.
