Garden Trampolines

There are many types and models, brands and manufacturers of garden trampolines. The most popular garden trampoline is round, however, lately the rectangular trampoline is becoming more and more popular particularly with trained gymnasts and trampolinists who have the skill and knowledge to use these exciting pieces of kit safely.

You can also buy octagonal and oval trampolines theseRound Trampoline, Garden Trampoline days, but they are not so popular.

Round Garden Trampolines

Round garden trampolines are described

by the diameter of the trampoline frame, 10ft, 12ft, 14ft etc. Each type of trampoline will have weight restrictions and minimum heights to prevent the bouncer from hitting the floor, so bare this in mind of you have three 9 stone kids bouncing on a trampoline with weight restrictions of 20 stone the trampoline may  perform abnormally and possibly fail. It is advisable to only have one person on the trampoline at a time as the risk of injury is increased significantly when two or more bouncers are using the trampoline at the same time.

The number of springs will depend on the diameter of the trampoline, the bigger the diameter the more springs, but in all cases the frame and springs should be covered with a frame pad (also known as matting) to protect the bouncer from falling between the springs or hitting the metal frame.

Trampolines in the UK must meet strict British Standards requirements and all trampolines should carry instructions and warnings about the potential dangers of using the trampoline.

Rectangular Garden Trampolines Rectangular Trampoline, Garden Trampoline

Rectangular garden trampolines are very popular with gymnasts and trained trampolinists as they provide a better performance in comparison to the round garden trampolines. Rectangular trampolines are measure along the short and long side frame and described as ’8x10ft’ 15x17ft, etc. Most manufacturers will give each different type and size a name such as the Z20 Extreme or ‘Airbound Kiddies’ garden trampoline. The number and length of the springs will determine the performance of the trampolines so the longer the springs, the more height you will be able to get when bouncing. As the dimension of the trampoline increases, so do the number of springs and the height of the frame from the floor.  This is to protect the bouncer from hitting the floor while bouncing.

Garden trampolines are becoming the must have accessory for the garden and they are fun for all the family. It is important that trampolines are used in a responsible manner and that safety remains of paramount importance.
