Form Judging
Form Judges Deductions
Based on the performance, the form judges will make deductions.
Each contact attracts a starting value of 1.0, so if the routine was performed to perfection the maximum score you could achieve is a perfect 10.
Routine Value
1. Full Twist 1.0
2. Staddle Jump 1.0
3. Seat Landing 1.0
4. Half Twist To Seat Landing 1.0
5. Half Twist To Feet 1.0
6. Pike Jump 1.0
7. Back Landing 1.0
9. Tuck Jump 1.0
10. Forward Somersault 1.0
Form Judges can only deduct a maximum of 0.5 per contact, so if your entire routine was terrible the minimum score you could achieve is 5.0.
For the above routine you can see that the ten contacts start with a value of 10.0. Form judge 1 had observed the routine and as each skill is performed makes deductions based on form, height and travel.
In this routine the deductions amount to 2.5 which leaves a total score of 7.5 from form judge 1. All the form judges calculate their score in the same way. When making the deductions the form judges simple write the deductions across a page whilst watching the routine as they should not take their eyes off of the performer until the routine has finished and the performer has dismounted the trampoline. When the performer has dismounted the form judge then adds up the deductions and simply subtracts it from 10.0 to find their final score.
The score is then displayed using flip cards numbers 0-
This is what the scores look like when displayed by all five form judges for the set routine.
(Please note that Judge numbers are not displayed in actual competition, this is for your benefit)
J1 J2 J3 J4 J5
7.5 8.0 8.1 8.0 8.0
The final score is determined by deducting the highest and lowest score and adding together the remaining three scores. In this case the score would be 24.0
This is what the scores look like for the voluntary routine
J1 J2 J3 J4 J5 TJ
7.5 8.0 8.1 8.0 8.0 1.2
The TJ is the tariff judge, who checks the skills performed and works out the tariff value of the routine. Again the highest and lowest form judge scores are deducted, with the remaining three form judges scores being added together. The Tariff is then added to the form score to make the final score for the voluntary routine. In this case the final score for the voluntary routine is 25.2
The final scores for the set and voluntary routine are then added together for the total competition score. In this case 49.2
Team Competitions
Teams consist of three or four performers of the same sex within the same age group. The performers compete their normal individual routines in the competition. The top three scores are then added together to form the team score.
p1 p2 p3 p4
50.2 50.0 50.0 50.0
In the above example the total team score is 150.2. If there are only three performers in the team, all three scores are counted.
Form judging should not be confused with tariff judging
